What is Academic Coaching?

The core of Academic Coaching is working with students to improve their executive functions in school and in life. Academic Coaching is the perfect solution for students who struggle due to ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, dyslexia, deficits with executive functions and other learning differences.

In weekly coaching sessions, students develop the skills needed to effectively manage their work-load. This may mean breaking down assignments into manageable chunks, ranking priorities, problem solving reinforcement systems, modifying the workspace, using visual tools, etc. 

Often, parents and students are both aware of effective tools to be successful but during coaching sessions, students develop the skills they need and have a system of accountability.
